11/14/2023 0 Comments Piezo pickup wiring![]() ![]() I used the 8 pin DIN jack and cable from RMC, with their 4 or 5 (out of 6) Piezo bridge pieces I searched this forum and found a few old threads that mentioned blending these type of pickups but didn't go into detail on how to do it. Other ideas I haven't thought of? (there must be a few). I guess they run to different amps/channels or maybe to a buffer/preamp? K&K, Baggs and others make dual input one output external preamps that would work with this pretty easily I believe.ĥ. Some old electric guitars actually had two output jacks - one for the mag and one for Piezo. Is there a "smarter" blend pot out there (like Gold Tone is using on their 'cello) that I can buy that can blend a high impedance Piezo output and a low impedance mag output that I can tuck under the finger rest?Ĥ. Forget the blend and just use a switch to select which p'up I'm connecting to.ģ. My endpin jack is stereo, so I could just route each p'up to the jack, then stereo chord to an external preamp with a signal blend pot. I don't want to cut a big hole for an on-board preamp, so I'm thinking here are the options:ġ. Here is my question - how do I go about blending the two pickups, or should I even try? Doing the electronics myself is not a problem, just deciding on what option to use. Fits perfectly, along with a sleek Benedetto style finger rest and volume/tone pots to mount underheath for a clean install. I'm looking to branch into jazz, so I got this suspended humbucker () From Stew-Mac. The sound is great when played through a HI Z input or using a good preamp. On my Eastman mandocello, I installed an internal twin head JJB Piezo a few years back. ![]()
